Car
If you are driving from La Paz, take the main highway towards Tiwanaku (approximately 72 km away). Follow the signs for Tiwanaku. Once you reach Tiwanaku, look for the signs leading to the Sun Gate (Puerta del Sol). You will arrive at the archaeological site at C8WG+7C3, Tiwanaku. There is parking available near the entrance, but be aware that entrance fees may apply (around 15 BOB).
Public Transportation
From La Paz, you can take a minibus or bus from the central bus terminal to Tiwanaku. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and costs around 5 to 10 BOB. Once you arrive in Tiwanaku, you can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) or take a local taxi to the Sun Gate. The taxis are usually available just outside the bus station and should cost around 10 BOB to reach the archaeological site.
Tourist Guided Tour
Another option is to join a guided tour from La Paz that includes transportation to Tiwanaku. These tours typically last a full day and cover various sites, including the Sun Gate. Prices vary but expect to pay around 150 to 300 BOB per person, which usually includes entrance fees and a guide.
