Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the main town in Yungas, head west on the main road towards La Paz. After approximately 1 hour, you will reach the outskirts of La Paz. Look for signs directing you to 'Valle de la Luna' or 'Mallasa'. Turn onto Av. 6 de Agosto and continue straight until you see the entrance to Valle de la Luna on your right. Parking is available on-site. Be aware that there is a small entrance fee, usually around 15 BOB (Bolivian Bolivianos).

    From Yungas, take a bus towards La Paz. Buses leave frequently, and the fare is approximately 20 BOB. Once in La Paz, you can catch a local minibus (e.g., 'trufi') towards Mallasa. The minibus fare is around 5 BOB. Inform the driver that you want to go to Valle de la Luna. The drop-off point will be near the entrance to the park. There is an entrance fee of approximately 15 BOB.
