Discover more about Dom mladih Sarajevo

Dom Mladih, located within the Skenderija complex, has been a cornerstone of Sarajevo's cultural scene since the late 1960s. Originally conceived as a cultural and artistic center for youth, it quickly became a multimedia venue hosting diverse events. Before the Bosnian War, Dom Mladih was a modern and Western-styled club, fostering the city's pop-rock movement and providing a platform for emerging artists. Many famous musicians from the region, such as Kemal Monteno, Bijelo Dugme, and Dino Merlin, began their careers here. During the war in 1992, the venue suffered significant damage from shelling but remained a symbol of resilience, continuing to host events even in its damaged state. A complete renovation was carried out in the early 2000s, and Dom Mladih reopened in February 2007. Today, it features a large main hall (dance hall) with a capacity of 2,000 and an amphitheater that can accommodate up to 600 visitors. Dom Mladih continues to be a vibrant space for concerts, festivals, exhibitions, and other cultural activities. It serves as a gathering place for young people and a platform for new generations of artists to express themselves. The venue's rich history and ongoing commitment to the arts make it a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience Sarajevo's dynamic cultural landscape.
