    From Baščaršija, walk northwest on Sarači towards Ferhadija. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Mula Mustafe Bašeskije. Turn left onto Mula Mustafe Bašeskije and walk for about 10 minutes. You will pass the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque on your right. Continue straight until you reach Trg Fra Grge Martića, which will be on your right, just before you reach the Vijećnica (City Hall).

Trg Fra Grge Martića, also known as Fra Grge Martić Square, is a significant public space in Sarajevo, steeped in history and culture. The square is named after Fra Grga Martić, a Franciscan friar, writer, and key figure in the Illyrian Movement. He was a strong advocate for the cultural and political unity of South Slavs in the 19th century. During the Ottoman era, the site was home to a Janissary headquarters, later transformed into an inn and military warehouse. The Austro-Hungarian authorities initially planned to build a market here, but instead constructed the Cathedral of Jesus' Sacred Heart, designed by Josip Vancaš, between 1884 and 1887. In April 2014, a monument to Pope John Paul II, a benefactor of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, was unveiled on the square. Today, Trg Fra Grge Martića serves as a serene gathering place for locals and tourists alike, offering a blend of historical significance and contemporary urban life.
