Founded in 1952, the museum's inception was inspired by Jovan Dučić, a renowned poet and diplomat from Trebinje. The museum boasts a diverse collection spread across approximately 800 m² of exhibition space, encompassing archaeological, artistic, historical, and ethnological departments. Key highlights include Dučić's collection featuring stone sculptures, paintings, tapestries, and personal artifacts. The ethnological display depicts the life and culture of Serbs in Eastern Herzegovina during the 19th and 20th centuries. The archaeological section showcases artifacts from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages.
