  • From Kasane Airport

    The easiest way to reach Kubu Lodge from Kasane Airport (BBK) is by taxi or private transfer. The lodge is approximately 9 kilometers (6 miles) from the airport, a 10-12 minute drive. A private taxi transfer will cost around $50. Alternatively, a shared shuttle bus is available for around $100 per person.

  • From Kasane Town

    Kubu Lodge is located approximately 9km from the center of Kasane town and 3km from the control point at Kazungula. Follow the Kazungula road; the lodge is about 500m from the westerly signpost. A taxi from Kasane town will cost approximately BWP 100-150.

Kubu Lodge, established in 1986, stands as a testament to owner-managed hospitality in the Chobe region. Situated on the banks of the Chobe River, near the town of Kasane, the lodge provides a unique blend of tranquility and access to the untamed African wilderness. Just 2km from the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers, it's ideally located in the heart of the KAZA region, where four countries – Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe – meet. The lodge features 11 individual wooden chalets, each built on raised wooden decks that offer panoramic views of the Chobe River. These thatched chalets provide a comfortable and immersive experience, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the surrounding birdlife and peaceful atmosphere. Each chalet includes an en-suite bathroom, mosquito nets, tea and coffee facilities, and a private deck. The grounds of Kubu Lodge span 30 hectares of forest reserve, creating a sanctuary for local wildlife like the Chobe bushbuck, which can often be spotted from the chalets. The lodge also boasts a swimming pool, an indoor dining room, a lounge and bar area, and a summerhouse/reading lounge. Kubu Lodge is committed to community upliftment and has been home to the Kazungula Children's Ark for over fifteen years, supporting a local daycare center. Kubu Lodge serves as a gateway to the Chobe National Park, offering activities such as game drives and boat cruises.
