Road Transfer
Most visitors arrive at Madikwe Hills via road transfer from Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB), a journey of approximately 4.5 hours. Several transfer companies offer this service, with prices starting from R7,100 one-way for 4 guests. The route typically involves taking the N1 north towards the N4 toll road, passing through Rustenburg, Swartruggens, and Zeerust. In Zeerust, a right turn at the second stop street onto President Street leads to the R49 towards Madikwe. Follow this road for about 97km to reach the Abjaterskop Gate, the first entrance to Madikwe. From there, follow the signs to Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge. Note that gate entrance fees and conservation levies are usually settled at the lodge.
Air Transfer
For a quicker journey, consider a shuttle flight from Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) to the Madikwe Eastern Airstrip, a flight of approximately 1 hour. Federal Airlines operates daily shuttle services, with prices starting from R6,990 one-way. Upon arrival at the airstrip, Madikwe Hills offers complimentary transfers to the lodge in an open safari vehicle, a drive of about 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, private charter flights are available from Lanseria Airport or O.R. Tambo, offering a more personalized and flexible travel option. Keep in mind that flight and road transfer fares typically exclude conservation, reserve/park, and gate fees.
