Discover more about Makgadikgadi adventure camp

Makgadikgadi Adventure Camp serves as a launching point for explorations into the heart of the Makgadikgadi Pans, one of the largest salt pan systems in the world. Located near Thabatshukudu, the camp provides a convenient base for self-drive tourists heading to Nxai Pan, Chobe, and the Okavango Delta. The convergence of routes makes it a practical stopover before venturing into the wild. The camp offers a choice of accommodation, including traditional Tswana huts (rondavels) and self-catering campsites. The facilities are basic, featuring an ablution block with flushing toilets and solar-heated showers. A communal braai area (Kgotla) and a bar serving snacks and drinks provide opportunities for socializing and relaxation. This unique geological formation, adorned with ancient baobab trees, holds cultural significance and offers stunning photographic opportunities, especially at night under the stars. The Makgadikgadi Pans themselves offer a sense of immense space and silence, with the opportunity to experience the raw beauty of the Kalahari.
