    Public Transport

    From Largo do Machado metro station, take the integration bus (Cosme Velho) to the Corcovado train station. The bus fare is approximately R$5. Purchase train tickets online or at the station (R$97.50 - R$122.50). The train journey takes about 20 minutes. Alternatively, vans depart from Largo do Machado (in front of the Nossa Senhora da Glória Church). A round-trip ticket, including entrance to the monument, costs between R$26 and R$100+. From Copacabana, take bus routes 583, 570, or 584. Alternatively, take the subway to Cardeal Arcoverde station and walk 10 minutes to Praça do Lido, where official vans depart. Van tickets from Copacabana cost approximately €18 (R$97).

    Taxi/Ride-Share

    From Rio's South Zone (Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon), a taxi or ride-share to the Corcovado train station in Cosme Velho typically costs R$40-R$70. From Alto da Boa Vista, a taxi to the Paineiras Visitor Center (Estrada do Corcovado) takes about 20 minutes. Note: There is no parking at Paineiras; ride-sharing or taxis are recommended. From Paineiras, take the official van to Christ the Redeemer. A round-trip ticket, including entrance to the monument, is included in the van fare.

    Walking

    For adventurous travelers, a challenging 4-hour hike to Christ the Redeemer begins at Parque Lage in the Jardim Botânico neighborhood. Be aware that this hike is steep and strenuous, requiring a good level of fitness. It is also reported that the trail passes through a favela and is not considered a safe option. Alternatively, from the Paineiras parking lot, you can walk up the road to the entrance. This option is cheaper, but the road can be busy with traffic.
