    If driving from Bonito, head southeast on Avenida Antonio João towards Rua 21 de Setembro. After 1.5 km, turn left onto Rua 1º de Maio, which becomes Rodovia MS-178. Continue for 7 km until you reach Gruta Catedral at Rod Turismo Km 02 Rural. Parking is available on site.

Gruta Catedral, previously named Gruta São Mateus, offers a mesmerizing journey into the depths of the earth, located only 4 km from Bonito. Unlike other caves in the area, Gruta Catedral provides a unique through-cave experience, with the entrance and exit situated at different points, ensuring a well-ventilated environment. The adventure begins with a thrilling walk along a suspended bridge, 5 meters high and 15 meters long, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. The trail then meanders through the forest for about 280 meters, gradually ascending the hill towards the cave entrance. Inside, visitors descend approximately 60 steps to explore the 180-meter expanse of the cave. The cave's interior reveals a breathtaking spectacle of stalactites, stalagmites, coral formations, and columns, showcasing nature's artistry over millennia. These geological wonders evoke the grandeur of Gothic cathedrals, creating an awe-inspiring atmosphere. The cave is also equipped with excellent lighting to help visitors fully appreciate the rock formations. Before entering the cave, visitors can explore the Kadiwéu Cultural Museum, which showcases relics and exhibits about the history of the town and the indigenous Kadiwéu people. The museum also features displays of preserved local wildlife and vintage cars.
