From the town of Chapada dos Guimarães, take BR-251 towards the entrance of the Chapada dos Guimarães National Park. The Circuito das Cachoeiras, nestled within the Chapada dos Guimarães National Park, is a breathtaking trail that immerses visitors in the natural beauty of Mato Grosso. This 7km circuit (round trip) guides you through a diverse landscape, transitioning between open cerrado vegetation and gallery forests, all while following the crystal-clear waters of the Independência stream. The main draw, of course, is the collection of six stunning waterfalls that punctuate the trail. Each cascade offers a unique experience, from the refreshing pools of the Cachoeira do Pulo to the multi-tiered Cachoeira do Degrau. Take a dip in the natural hydro-massage, or simply relax and enjoy the stunning views from the various mirantes (viewpoints) along the way. Beyond the waterfalls, the circuit also features the Casa de Pedra, a large rock formation carved by the erosive power of water over millennia.
