If you have rented a car, start from the main town area of Vila dos Remédios. Head southeast on Rua da Praia towards the main road. Turn left onto the BR-363 road. Follow the signs towards Praia do Atalaia. After approximately 3 km, look for a dirt road that leads to Trilha do Atalaia. There is a small parking area at the trailhead. Note that a daily environmental preservation fee is required to access the trails, which is around R$ 15 per person.
