Dog Beach: A Vila dos Remédios Gem

Praia do Cachorro, translating to Dog Beach, is a charming and accessible beach nestled close to Vila dos Remédios, the main village on the island of Fernando de Noronha. Its convenient location makes it a favorite among visitors and locals alike.The beach is characterized by its small sandy cove, bordered by volcanic rocks and swaying palm trees. One of its main draws is the Buraco do Galego, a natural pool where visitors can take memorable photos with Morro do Pico in the background. During low tide, it's possible to scramble over the rocks to access three small natural pools on the far right side of the beach. However, access to these pools is restricted during the swell season from December to March.Praia do Cachorro has a lively atmosphere, with bar service available. The beach's history is tied to a fountain with a dog's face, giving it the unique name.
