Praia da Solidão, or Solitude Beach, is nestled on the southern end of Florianópolis Island, offering a tranquil escape surrounded by the lush Atlantic Forest. Officially named Praia do Rio das Pacas, after the now-extinct pacas that once inhabited the area, the beach is a haven of natural beauty.The beach stretches approximately 800 meters, featuring white sand and clear waters. The sea is bathed by an oceanic stream, making it suitable for fishing, diving, and surfing. A highlight is the Rio das Pacas, a river that flows into the sea, creating a small, warm-water pool perfect for children. At the end of the beach, a waterfall forms a natural pool, offering a refreshing freshwater swim.Praia da Solidão earned its name in the 1960s due to its remote location and sparse population. Even with increasing attention, it remains a calm meeting place for nature lovers. The beach is easily accessible by car via the SC-406 State Road.
