Public Transportation
Start from the Copacabana area. Take the Metrô Rio (subway) from the 'Cardeal Arcoverde' station (Line 1) towards 'Jardim Oceânico'. Get off at 'Ipanema - General Osório' station. From there, exit the station and head to the 'Praia de Ipanema' beach area. At the beach, look for the bus stop near 'Posto 9'. Take bus line 583 or 584 (heading towards 'Lagoa' or 'Jardim Botânico') and get off at the 'Lagoa' stop. Once you disembark, walk towards 'Parque da Catacumba' which is well-signposted. The entrance to the park will lead you to the trail that takes you to the Urubu Lookout.

Walking
If you are at the Lagoa area, you can simply walk to the 'Parque da Catacumba'. From the main entrance of the park, follow the signs that lead to the hiking trails. The hike to Urubu Lookout is well marked and usually takes about 30-45 minutes depending on your pace. The path is steep in some areas, so be prepared for a bit of a workout. Make sure to bring water and wear comfortable shoes.
