    If you're already in Ipanema or Copacabana, walking is the easiest way to reach Pedra do Arpoador. From Ipanema Beach, walk towards the end closest to the Dois Irmãos mountains. Follow the beach promenade along Avenida Vieira Souto until you see the rock formations. The walk from Ipanema takes about 15-20 minutes. From Copacabana, walk along the beach towards Ipanema; Arpoador is at the meeting point of the two beaches.

    If you're coming from further away, take a bus or the metro to Ipanema. Several bus routes serve the Ipanema/Arpoador area. Look for buses marked 'Ipanema' or 'Arpoador'. Ask the driver to let you off at 'Posto 8' in Ipanema. From there, walk towards the beach and follow the promenade to Pedra do Arpoador. Alternatively, the closest metro station is General Osório on the green line. From there, it's a short walk to Arpoador Beach. A single bus ticket costs around R$4.70.
