Discover more about Museu Catavento

Museu Catavento, inaugurated in 2009, is dedicated to science and technology, aiming to engage visitors with interactive and attractive exhibits. Housed in the Palácio das Indústrias, a historic building dating back to 1924, the museum itself is a landmark. The palace was originally built to showcase São Paulo's industries and has also served as the seat of the Legislative Assembly. The museum's 12,000 square meters are divided into four main sections : * **Universo (Universe):** Explore the cosmos with exhibits on the solar system, geology, and space travel. * **Vida (Life):** Discover the wonders of biology, from the smallest insects to the largest animals, and learn about the human body. Don't miss the butterfly garden with diverse butterfly species and specific plants. * **Engenho (Ingenuity):** Engage with hands-on experiments that illustrate concepts like electricity, magnetism, gravity, and optical illusions. * **Sociedade (Society):** Explore social issues and learn about the impact of climate change. Outside, the museum features a DC-3 airplane manufactured in 1936, a granite sphere, and other large-scale exhibits. The Palácio das Indústrias, designed by Domiziano Rossi, showcases an eclectic architectural style with elements linked to livestock farming and industry.
