Getting There

    From Serra dos Órgãos National Park, take the BR-116 highway heading south towards Rio de Janeiro. Continue on BR-116 for approximately 50 kilometers until you reach the junction with the BR-040. Merge onto BR-040 and continue for about 30 kilometers. Take the exit towards the city center of Rio de Janeiro (Centro). Merge onto Avenida Presidente Vargas and follow the signs for Praça Mauá. You will reach Pier Mauá located at Av. Rodrigues Alves, 10. Be aware of potential tolls along BR-116.

    To reach Pier Mauá via public transportation, first take a bus from Serra dos Órgãos National Park to the nearest bus terminal. Buses to Rio de Janeiro can be found at the Teresópolis bus terminal. The journey to Rio takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the main bus terminal in Rio (Rodoviária Novo Rio), you can take a taxi or use public buses (lines 121 or 126) directly to Praça Mauá. The cost of the bus fare from Teresópolis to Rio is approximately R$ 30. Upon arriving at Praça Mauá, Pier Mauá is a short walk away.
