The cable car itself has become a symbol of Rio, appearing in numerous films and TV shows, including the James Bond film 'Moonraker'. The vision of engineer Augusto Ferreira Ramos, the cable car was constructed by over 400 workers, who scaled the mountains to erect the structure. Today, the cable car maintains a daily average of 2,500 visitors.
