Highlights include her famous five-foot-tall platform shoes, glamorous dresses (including one from her final performance), signature fruit hats, and the turban she wore on her wedding day. The exhibits also feature video documentaries, biographies, film clips, and musical recordings, providing a comprehensive look at her career.Carmen Miranda, born Maria do Carmo Miranda da Cunha in Portugal, rose to fame in Brazil before becoming an international sensation. She debuted on Broadway in 1939 and dedicated herself to promoting Brazilian music and culture throughout the world. The museum not only celebrates her artistic achievements but also explores the broader cultural context of Brazil during her lifetime.The museum building itself is a circular structure designed by architect Affonso Eduardo Reidy, originally intended as a pavilion for the Morro da Viúva playground. The space was renovated and reopened in August 2023, after being closed to visitors since 2013. Today, visitors can immerse themselves in the colorful world of Carmen Miranda and learn about her journey from a young hat shop worker to an international icon.
