Discover more about Anegada Sign

The Anegada Sign simply marks the entrance to Anegada, the northernmost and one of the most unique islands in the British Virgin Islands (BVI). Unlike the other volcanic islands in the archipelago, Anegada is a flat island formed from coral and limestone. Its highest point reaches only about 28 feet (8.5 meters) above sea level, giving it the Spanish name meaning "flooded land". As you arrive, the sign is a reminder that Anegada offers a different Caribbean experience with its pristine beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and unique landscape. The island is known for its secluded sandy beaches, clear springs, and diverse wildlife, including flamingos and rock iguanas. Anegada is also surrounded by the Horseshoe Reef, one of the largest barrier coral reefs in the Caribbean, making it a popular destination for snorkeling and scuba diving. While the sign itself is not a destination, it symbolizes the start of an adventure on an unspoiled island with a relaxed pace of life.
