The mosque is not only a place of worship but also a major tourist attraction, drawing visitors from around the world.The mosque's architecture is a unique blend of Mughal and Italian Renaissance styles. The exterior is constructed of white marble, while the main dome is covered in 3.3 million pieces of gold Venetian mosaic. The interior features Italian marble floors, English chandeliers, and carpets from Saudi Arabia. The mosque is situated in an artificial lagoon, with a replica of a 16th-century royal barge, called a Mahligai, floating on the water. This barge was used for Quran reading competitions in the 1960s.Visitors are welcome to explore the mosque's exterior and surrounding gardens. Non-Muslims are allowed to visit during specific hours, but the mosque is closed to visitors during prayer times. Modest attire is required, and women are provided with robes and headscarves. Photography is permitted outside, but not inside the mosque. The mosque is a serene and beautiful place, offering a glimpse into Brunei's rich cultural and religious heritage.
