It's considered the oldest market in the country, with origins dating back to the 1960s.The market is a sensory feast, with the aroma of fresh fruits, spices, and local dishes filling the air. Here, you can find a wide variety of goods, from fresh produce, seafood, and meat to traditional handicrafts and souvenirs. Sample local delicacies like nasi lemak, nasi katok, and kueh while interacting with friendly vendors.The current market complex, built in 2016, houses 313 stalls in eight buildings. It provides a modern and organized space while maintaining the traditional market atmosphere. The market is particularly lively in the mornings, especially on Fridays and Sundays, when special tamu events bring even more vendors and a wider selection of goods.Kianggeh Market is more than just a place to shop; it's a social hub where locals gather, offering visitors a chance to observe daily life in Brunei. It was even visited by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998 and featured in a TV documentary by chef Antony Worrall Thompson.
