  • Water Taxi

    The most common way to reach the Kampong Ayer Museum is by water taxi from the main waterfront in Bandar Seri Begawan. Head to the jetty in front of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah shopping mall or along Jalan McArthur. Water taxis are readily available. A one-way trip to Kampong Ayer costs around BND 1 per person. Negotiate the price beforehand.

    It is possible to walk to one part of Kampong Ayer, Tamoi Tengah, via the Sungai Kebun pedestrian bridge in the Sungai Kedayan Eco-Corridor park, next to the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque. From Tamoi Tengah you will need to take a water taxi to reach the museum. Water taxi fare is around BND 1 per person.

Don't miss the observation tower, modeled after a traditional Malay house, which provides panoramic views of the water village and the city skyline. The museum aims to preserve the legacy of the water village, revive cottage industries, generate employment, and support Brunei's economic diversification through tourism.
