Seria Energy Lab: Brunei's Window into the World of Energy

Seria Energy Lab (SEL) is Brunei's premier science center, located in Seria, the heart of the nation's oil industry. Originally established as the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) in 2002, it underwent a major renovation and rebranding in 2020 to broaden its focus to all forms of energy and promote scientific literacy. The museum features interactive exhibits designed to engage visitors of all ages. Explore the Oil and Gas Zone to learn about Brunei's rich hydrocarbon history and the technology behind the industry. The Smart Science Zone offers hands-on exhibits based on the concept of learning through play. The Aqualab Zone showcases a large aquarium with a thriving coral ecosystem, similar to what's found beneath an oil rig. Finally, the Future Energy Zone explores renewable energy sources and the importance of energy conservation. SEL also hosts a variety of educational programs, workshops, and competitions throughout the year, aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of energy-related topics and promoting STEM education.
