Istana Darussalam is located in Kampong Sumbiling Lama, a short distance from the center of Bandar Seri Begawan. From the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, walk east along Jalan Masjid Omar Ali Saifuddien, then turn left onto Jalan McArthur. Continue onto Jalan Kumbang Pasang, then turn right onto Jln Istana Darussalam. The palace will be on your left. Walking is free and takes approximately 15-20 minutes.

Bus routes and numbers are displayed at the terminal. Alight at the nearest bus stop on Jalan Istana Darussalam. From there, it is a short walk to the palace. The bus fare is BND 1.00.
