The Royal Barge is located along the waterfront in central Bandar Seri Begawan, easily accessible on foot from most downtown hotels and attractions. From the Brunei Hotel, walk along Jalan Kianggeh Road towards the river. The Royal Barge will be visible on the lagoon in front of the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque. No costs involved.

The main bus terminal in Bandar Seri Begawan is located on Jalan Cator. From the terminal, you can walk to the Royal Barge in approximately 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, take a short taxi or Dart ride to VWQQ+6J5. Bus fare is around BND 1. Dart/taxi fare from the bus terminal is approximately BND 5.

Taxis can be difficult to hail on the street. It's best to use the Dart ride-hailing app. A Dart ride from the airport to the Royal Barge costs approximately BND 12-15. A 5km ride in Bandar Seri Begawan costs about 25 SGD. Taxis are metered, with a base price of BND 3.50 for the first minute or kilometer. An additional BND 0.20 is charged for every 250m or 15 seconds. There is a BND 3 surcharge for trips to and from the airport.
