The Lumut Lighthouse (Rumah Api Lumut) is an active navigational beacon located in the Belait District of Brunei. Situated in Kampong Sungai Kayu Ara, it's under the administration of Kampong Lumut II in Mukim Liang. Overlooking Lumut Beach, the lighthouse is a prominent landmark in the area.Completed in November 2004 and inaugurated in March 2005, the lighthouse guides ships approaching Lumut port from the South China Sea. The 32-meter-tall hexagonal tower is painted in red, white, and blue, making it a striking feature along the Brunei coastline. Its light emits three white flashes every 15 seconds, with a range of 45 kilometers (28 mi).Visitors can enjoy the scenic views of the coastline and learn about the lighthouse's role in the local maritime industry. The surrounding area is perfect for leisurely strolls and photography, especially during sunset. The lighthouse stands as a symbol of safety and guidance for seafarers, reflecting the importance of maritime activities in the region.
