Getting There

  • Car

    If driving from Kuala Belait, head northwest on Jalan Maulana towards Jalan Padang. Continue on Jalan Padang for about 10 km until you reach the junction at Lumut. Turn left onto Lumut Road (Jalan Lumut) and drive for another 3 km. You will see signs directing you to Lumut Lighthouse. Parking is available near the lighthouse.

  • Public Transportation

    From Kuala Belait town center, take a bus heading towards Lumut. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Lumut bus stop, the main stop in the area. From there, take a short taxi ride (about 5 minutes) to Lumut Lighthouse; the fare is approximately BND 5.

  • Walking

    If you are already in Lumut, head north on Jalan Lumut towards the coast. The walk is around 2 km and should take about 25 minutes. Follow the coastline, and you will see the Lumut Lighthouse as you approach the area.

Located in Kampong Sungai Kayu Ara, the Lumut Lighthouse is an active navigational beacon that has guided ships safely since its inauguration in March 2005. The lighthouse is a 32-meter (105 ft) hexagonal tower painted in red, white, and blue, making it a prominent landmark. Its modern LED lighting emits three white flashes every 15 seconds, with a range of 45 kilometers (28 mi).
