Discover more about Fountain

Plovdiv boasts a variety of fountains, each contributing to the city's charm and appeal. The most famous are located within Tsar Simeon's Garden, a park created for the First Bulgarian Exhibition in 1892. Landscape architect Lucien Chevalas designed the garden, which has become a beloved recreational space for Plovdiv residents. The classical fountain of the goddess Demeter, sculpted by Arnoldo Zòcchi, is a relic from the 1892 exhibition. Other notable fountains in the garden include the Fisherman and the Bear. The Singing Fountains, located on the lake in Tsar Simeon's Garden, are a major attraction, especially during the summer months. These fountains feature a colorful light display synchronized with classical music, drawing large crowds in the evenings. Shows typically occur on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. In addition to the Tsar Simeon Garden fountains, the fountain with pelicans is located on the central Stefan Stambolov Square in front of the Municipality of Plovdiv. The Singing Fountains were renovated under a European program, ensuring they remain a captivating attraction. The fountains shoot water up to 12 meters high, enhanced by countless RGB lights.
