Public Transport
To reach Chutes de la Karera via public transport, take a local bus from either Bujumbura or Bubanza to Mihama. From Bujumbura, the bus ride is approximately 30-45 minutes. From Bubanza, head to the main bus station and look for a bus or shared taxi to Mihama; this fare is around 1,000 BIF. Once in Mihama, hire a motorcycle taxi (moto) for about 2,000 BIF to take you directly to the falls. The moto ride is roughly 15 minutes.
Car
If driving from Bujumbura, head south on Route Nationale 1 (RN1). Watch for signs indicating Chutes de la Karera Falls and turn right onto a dirt road leading to the falls. From Bubanza, take the main road east towards Mihama. At the intersection near the town center, turn left and continue for approximately 15 kilometers, following signs to the falls. A parking area is available near the falls.
