Car

If you are traveling by car, start by heading south from Bujumbura along the R.N.3 Rumonge Highway. Make sure to follow the signs for Rumonge. The drive usually takes about 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. As you approach Rumonge, keep an eye out for the Sunstone Beach sign. It is located on the right side of the highway at Kagongo. There is a small parking area available for visitors.

Public Transportation

For those opting for public transportation, you can catch a minibus (commonly referred to as a taxi-brousse) from the central bus station in Bujumbura. Look for a bus heading towards Rumonge and confirm with the driver or conductor that they stop at Kagongo. The fare is typically around 1,000-2,000 BIF (Burundian Francs). The journey may take approximately 1-1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Kagongo, you may have to walk a short distance to reach Sunstone Beach, which is along the R.N.3, or ask locals for directions to the beach.
