Start at the Gitega Town Centre, near the market. Head south along Avenue de la Révolution. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with Avenue Ngendandumwe. Turn left onto Avenue Ngendandumwe and walk for another 1 kilometer. You will pass several small shops and local eateries. Keep an eye out for a sign that indicates the direction to Chutes de la Karera Falls.

Once you see the sign, continue walking straight for about 500 meters until you reach a fork in the road. Take the right path, which will lead you downhill. This path can be a bit steep, so take your time. After about 800 meters, you will see a small wooden sign that marks the entrance to the falls. Follow the well-trodden path leading to Chutes de la Karera Falls for another 300 meters.
