    Getting There

    Car

    From Imbo Plain, head towards the main road connecting to the city of Bujumbura. Follow Route Nationale No. 1 (RN1) heading east. After approximately 30 kilometers, take the exit towards Gitega. Continue on this road for around 25 kilometers until you reach the town of Gitega. From Gitega, follow the signs to the town of Mihama, which is about 10 kilometers away. As you approach Mihama, keep an eye out for the sign directing you to Chutes de la Karera Falls. The final stretch will require a short drive on a dirt road leading to the falls. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain. Parking is available near the entrance.

    Public Transportation

    Start at a central location in Imbo Plain and look for a bus or shared taxi heading to Gitega. The fare should be around 2000 BIF (Burundian Francs). Once you arrive in Gitega, you can either take another bus towards Mihama or hire a moto-taxi. The moto-taxi may cost around 3000 BIF to reach the falls. Keep in mind that the last part of the journey may require a short walk, as some vehicles may not reach the entrance directly.
