If you are traveling by car from the center of Karusi, head southwest on Avenue de l'Indépendance towards Avenue de la Révolution. Continue straight for about 10 kilometers until you reach the junction at the Route Nationale 1. Turn right onto Route Nationale 1 and drive for approximately 80 kilometers. You will pass through Giheta and Gitega. Keep an eye out for signs indicating Bujumbura. As you approach Bujumbura, follow the signs to the Rweza neighborhood. The Unity Monument is located at J94Q+R94 in Rweza, which is visible from the main road. There is typically no entrance fee to visit the monument.

Public Transport (Bus)

To reach Unity Monument using public transportation, find a local bus heading to Bujumbura from Karusi. These buses usually depart from designated bus stations in Karusi. The bus fare is generally affordable, around 2,000 BIF (Burundian Francs). Once you arrive in Bujumbura, you can take a taxi or a motorcycle taxi (known locally as 'boda-boda') to the Rweza neighborhood. The fare for a taxi from the bus station to Unity Monument is approximately 5,000 BIF, while a boda-boda may cost around 1,500 BIF. Be sure to agree on the fare before starting your ride.
