Walking
From the center of Kirundo, head east on Avenue de l'Indépendance towards Avenue des Nations Unies. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route Nationale 2. Walk for approximately 2 kilometers; you will pass several small shops and local eateries. Keep an eye out for directional signs pointing towards Nyanza. Once you see the sign for Nyanza, continue along Route Nationale 2 for another 3 kilometers. The King's Palace Museum will be on your left, just past the entrance to the Nyanza town.
Bicycle
If you are renting a bicycle, start from the Kirundo town square and pedal east on Avenue de l'Indépendance. Continue along this road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Route Nationale 2 and cycle for about 2 kilometers. You will notice a more open landscape as you leave Kirundo behind. Keep following Route Nationale 2 for another 3 kilometers until you see the sign for Nyanza. The museum will be on your left side just after entering the town.
Public Transport
To reach the King's Palace Museum using public transport, first find the nearest bus stop in Kirundo. Look for a bus heading towards Nyanza; they usually depart from the main bus terminal. Once on the bus, inform the conductor that you are going to Nyanza. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Nyanza, you can either walk to the museum or ask locals for directions. The museum is located on Route Nationale 2, just off the main road.
