From the center of Munyika, head southeast on Avenue de l'Indépendance towards Avenue du Lac. Continue straight for about 2 km until you reach the intersection with Route Nationale 1. Turn left onto Route Nationale 1 and drive for approximately 10 km. Look for signs indicating Busumanyi; you will need to take a right turn onto a smaller road leading into the village of Busumanyi. Follow the road for about 5 km, and you will arrive at Mumika, located in a ravine. Ensure your vehicle can handle rough terrain, as some sections may be unpaved.

Public Transportation (Bus)

From the central bus station in Munyika, take a bus heading towards Busumanyi. Buses depart regularly throughout the day, but it’s best to check the schedule to confirm times. The fare is approximately 1,000 Burundian Francs. The journey takes about 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Busumanyi, ask locals for directions to Mumika; it is about a 2 km walk from the bus stop. Follow the main road until you see signs for the ravine. Be prepared to walk on uneven paths.

Motorbike Taxi

If you prefer a quicker option from Munyika, consider hiring a motorbike taxi (known as 'moto') to take you directly to Mumika. Negotiate the fare beforehand, which typically ranges from 5,000 to 10,000 Burundian Francs depending on your starting point. The ride will take about 20 minutes, but be cautious as the roads can be bumpy. The driver will know how to reach Mumika, so provide the name and ask to be dropped off as close to the ravine as possible.
