If you are driving, start from Gitega, the nearest major city. Head north on the N1 highway towards Nyarumanga. After approximately 30 kilometers, take the exit for Kirinzi. Continue on the road until you see signs for Mount Heha. The mountain is located in a rural area, so be prepared for unpaved roads as you approach the mountain. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain.

Begin your journey in Gitega by taking a bus or shared taxi heading towards Nyarumanga. The bus journey will take around 1-2 hours depending on the schedule and stops. Once you reach Nyarumanga, you may need to hire a motorcycle taxi (commonly known as 'boda-boda') to take you to the base of Mount Heha. The motorcycle ride will take about 20 minutes and costs around 2,000 BIF.
