Walking
From the center of Rumonge, head towards the main road (R.N.3) that runs along the lakeshore. You can ask locals for directions if you're unsure. Once you reach R.N.3, turn left and walk along this road. Continue walking for about 2 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views of Lake Tanganyika on your left. Keep an eye out for the Kigwena Forest Nature Reserve sign, which will be on your right. The entrance is marked and you may need to follow a short path into the forest to reach the main area.

If you have access to a bicycle, start from the central market of Rumonge and ride towards R.N.3. Turn left onto R.N.3 and pedal along the lakeshore for approximately 2 kilometers. Note that the road can be bumpy in places, so be cautious. Look for the entrance of Kigwena Forest Nature Reserve on your right. Secure your bike at the entrance if there is a designated area.
