Walking
From the center of Rumonge, head north on Avenue du 1er Novembre towards Avenue du Lac. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with Avenue de la Réunification. Turn left onto Avenue de la Réunification and proceed for about 300 meters. You will see a sign for the bus station ahead. Take a mini-bus or shared taxi heading to Bujumbura. Let the driver know you are going to Bujumbura Zoo, which will be your stop. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes.
Public Transport
At the main bus station in Rumonge, look for a mini-bus or shared taxi (often referred to as a 'taxi-brousse') that is heading to Bujumbura. Make sure to board one that explicitly states it is going to Bujumbura. The fare is usually very affordable. Once you arrive in Bujumbura, ask the driver to drop you off near the Zoo. The exact address is 'J963+WHV, Rue du 13 Octobre'. From there, you might have to walk a short distance to reach the entrance of the zoo.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle in Rumonge. Start by heading north on Avenue du 1er Novembre until you reach Avenue du Lac. Continue on Avenue de la Réunification towards Bujumbura. The total cycling distance is about 15 kilometers, and it should take roughly 1-1.5 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to follow the main road signs towards Bujumbura and be cautious of traffic. Upon entering Bujumbura, navigate to Rue du 13 Octobre where the zoo is located.
