Ascent of Pico do Fogo, Fogo Volcano
Top-notch service
In July 2026, I used the Qualitur agency for booking my inter-island flights (Sao Vicente/Praia/Fogo, round trip). I also used Qualitur for organizing the excursion to the great volcano of Fogo: one night's accommodation in an excellent hotel at the foot of the volcano (Casa Alcindo in Cha das Caldeiras), provision of a friendly and interesting guide who speaks French.... And finally, Qualitur took care of the various transfers by van (airport/hotel; hotel/volcano...thank you Claudio!). They even recommended an excellent hotel with a pool in Sao Filipe (the Bamboo Xaguate Hotel). The service was excellent; Qualitur offered me a custom-made program. Serious in the organization of the stay, competitive prices, quick responses in our preparatory exchanges, punctuality of the driver, humor, patience, and kindness of the entire staff: everything was smooth and perfect! A day on the island of Fogo to discover the volcano
Amazing
The island is amazing, we had a great time. The tour guides had all the answers and very friendly. The food was very good also.

Absolute must to do if you visit Fogo
The climb is steep, very good cardio training. But every step is worth it. The view is perfect. As the light appears, man becomes aware that he is on top of a volcano that is inside a volcano. And then the descent, the absolute reward for every drop of sweat squeezed out during the ascent.
