Car Rental
If you have rented a car in Sal, head towards the main road leading to Palmeira. From Santa Maria, take the main road (CV-1) north towards Palmeira. It takes about 30 minutes to reach Buracona. Once in Palmeira, follow the signs towards Buracona. The final stretch requires you to drive on a dirt road for about 5 minutes. Park your car at the designated area.
Taxi
You can hire a taxi from your location in Sal. Make sure to negotiate the price beforehand; it should cost around €20-€30 for a round trip to Buracona from Santa Maria. The driver will take you directly to the entrance of the Blue Eye Cave. Confirm with the driver about waiting time if you wish to return with the same taxi.
Public Transport (Minibus)
Catch a minibus (also known as 'aluguer') from Santa Maria to Palmeira. The fare is approximately €1-€2. Once you arrive in Palmeira, you may have to walk or take a short taxi ride to reach Buracona. The walk is about 20 minutes, but it may not be well marked, so asking locals for directions is advisable.
