Getting There

  From the central area of Santa Maria, head towards the main street known as Avenida 5 de Julho. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Rua 15 de Agosto. Turn left onto Rua 15 de Agosto and proceed straight until you see the local market on your right. Continue walking past the market, and shortly after, you will reach a fork in the road. Stay to the right at the fork, which is Rua 1 de Junho. Walk straight until you reach a small roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Rua de Lisboa. Keep walking until you see a sign for OSPA Rehoming Centre on your left. The exact address is J39M+68F, Santa Maria. It's a short walk, approximately 15-20 minutes depending on your pace.

  If you prefer to cycle, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Santa Maria. Start at the main square and head towards Avenida 5 de Julho. Cycle along this avenue until you reach the intersection with Rua 15 de Agosto. Turn left here and continue cycling straight. You'll pass the local market on your right. After the market, follow the same route as the walking path: stay to the right at the fork onto Rua 1 de Junho, and then head to the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Rua de Lisboa. The OSPA Rehoming Centre will be on your left after following this road for a few minutes. Expect the journey to take about 10 minutes by bicycle.
