From the center of Vila do Maio, head towards the coast and walk along the main road, Avenida de Praia. Continue straight until you reach the end of the town where the road curves to the left. Follow this road for about 15-20 minutes. As you walk, you will pass local shops and cafes where you can stop to enjoy the local culture. Keep an eye on your left for signs directing you towards Cidade Velha. After about 1 km, you should start to see the coastline and the historical buildings of Cidade Velha in the distance.

Once you arrive in Cidade Velha, look for the signs indicating Pelourinho. The landmark is located near the National Highway. As you approach, you will see a distinctive structure that stands out against the historical backdrop of the area.
