Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the main square (Praça da Igreja) in Vila do Maio. From there, head southwest towards Rua 5 de Julho. Follow this road until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Rua de Santo António. Continue straight until you reach the beach area, then turn left onto the coastal path that leads towards Ponta Preta. Follow the coastline for about 1.5 km until you see the sign for Stella Maris Village at Calhetinha. The entrance will be to your right. It should take approximately 30 minutes to walk there.

    If you have access to a bicycle, start at the main square (Praça da Igreja) in Vila do Maio. Cycle southwest on Rua 5 de Julho, then take the first exit at the roundabout onto Rua de Santo António. Continue cycling straight until you reach the beach. Turn left onto the coastal path and ride for about 1.5 km. You will see a sign for Stella Maris Village at Calhetinha on your right. The bike ride should take around 15-20 minutes, depending on your speed.
