  • Public Transit

    From downtown Berkeley, walk to the Downtown Berkeley BART station located at 2148 Shattuck Avenue. Take the BART train towards San Francisco International Airport. After approximately 20 minutes, get off at the Embarcadero station in San Francisco. From there, transfer to the Muni bus, line 25 (Treasure Island), and board it on Drumm St & California St. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes and get off at the Hunters Point Blvd & Oakdale Ave stop. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to Candlestick Point State Recreation Area. Follow Hunters Point Blvd south, then turn left onto Hunters Point Expy.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer biking, start from the Berkeley Marina. Follow the bike path along the shoreline towards San Francisco. Once you reach the Bay Bridge, you can take the bike path across the bridge (make sure to check for any bike access restrictions). After crossing, follow the bike path signs towards the Bayview-Hunters Point area. Continue on the designated bike lanes until you reach Candlestick Point State Recreation Area. This route is approximately 8 miles and can take about 45 minutes to an hour depending on your biking speed.

    If you're up for a long walk, start at the UC Berkeley campus. Head south on Telegraph Ave until you reach the Ashby BART station. From there, take the BART train to the Embarcadero station. Once in San Francisco, walk south towards the waterfront along the Embarcadero. Continue along the waterfront until you reach the Bayview-Hunters Point area. This option will take several hours and is best suited for those who enjoy a long scenic walk.
