Walking
If you are in downtown Berkeley, start at the intersection of Shattuck Avenue and University Avenue. Head north on Shattuck Avenue for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Hearst Avenue. Turn right onto Hearst Avenue and walk for another 0.2 miles. You will pass by the UC Berkeley campus on your left. Continue on Hearst Avenue until you reach the end, which will lead you to a path that goes into the hills.
