Getting There

Walking

From the visitor center parking lot, numerous trails beckon. A short walk to the right of the restrooms leads to a path that descends towards Rodeo Beach, offering stunning views along the way. Alternatively, explore the area around the visitor center, including the demonstration garden and nearby historic buildings.
Public Transport

Golden Gate Transit lines 101, 132, and 150 stop at Spencer Avenue in Sausalito. From there, walk under the freeway and take the Morning Sun Trail uphill. At the top, you can access various trails within the Marin Headlands. Golden Gate Transit also runs hourly service from San Francisco to the Golden Gate Bridge bus stop. From there, you can walk into the Marin Headlands.
Driving

From Highway 101, take the exit just north of the Golden Gate Bridge and follow the signs for the Marin Headlands. You can use either Bunker Road or Conzelman Road. Parking is free in the visitor center lot , though it can be limited, especially on weekends. Note that there may be a 30-minute parking limit in the visitor center parking lot. Ask the ranger where longer parking is allowed.
