Getting There

  • Driving

    From Highway 101, take the Alexander Avenue exit north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Turn right onto Alexander Avenue, then left through the tunnel onto Bunker Road. Follow Bunker Road approximately 2.5 miles, then turn left onto Field Road. The Marin Headlands Visitor Center will be on your right; turn right just past the visitor center to reach Nike Missile Site SF-88L, about 1/4 mile up the hill. Parking is available on-site , but can fill up quickly. There are no tolls on this immediate route.

  • Public Transport

    From San Francisco, take the Golden Gate Transit Route 101 bus to the Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza. From there, transfer to the Marin Headlands Shuttle (check availability) or walk/bike via Bunker Road. Alternatively, take Golden Gate Transit Route 4 to the Mill Valley Depot. From there, it is approximately a 1-mile uphill walk to the site via Miller Avenue and Marin Avenue. Golden Gate Transit fares vary depending on the distance traveled, but expect to pay around $5-7 from San Francisco to the Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza. The Marin Headlands Shuttle, if available, is free.
