    Walking

    From the UC Berkeley campus, head southwest towards Telegraph Avenue. Walk down Telegraph Avenue until you reach the intersection with Bancroft Way. Turn right onto Bancroft Way and continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the BART station at Downtown Berkeley. Take the BART train towards San Francisco - Embarcadero. After about 25 minutes, get off at the Montgomery St. station. From there, walk north on Montgomery St. until you reach California St. Turn right onto California St. and continue for a few blocks. Then turn left onto Grant Ave. North Beach will be ahead, where you can explore the neighborhood.

    Public Transport

    Start at the Downtown Berkeley BART station. Take the BART train towards San Francisco - Embarcadero. After approximately 25 minutes, get off at Montgomery St. station. Upon exiting the station, walk north on Montgomery St. until you reach California St. Turn right on California St. and walk for a few blocks until you reach Grant Ave. Turn left onto Grant Ave. and continue walking into North Beach, which is a vibrant area filled with restaurants and shops.

    Cycling

    If you are comfortable cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations around UC Berkeley. Start by heading south on Telegraph Avenue, then turn right onto Bancroft Way.
